At Casa Del Vento, every knob, pull, latch, hinge, and door handle has been thoughtfully selected to complement the architecture and tell a cohesive design story. Much like jewelry completes an outfit, hardware is what gives a home its personality. It's the finishing touch that quietly elevates every room and ties the entire home together.
More Than Just Something You Touch
Hardware is one of the few design elements you'll interact with every single day.
You'll turn the front door knob each morning, slide open a pocket door without giving it a second thought, and reach for cabinet pulls countless times while preparing meals or tidying up. Because these moments happen so naturally, they're often overlooked but they're exactly why thoughtful hardware selection matters.
A beautiful home isn't just something you see.
It's something you experience.
Every texture, every finish, and every piece contributes to how a home feels, making hardware one of the most important details in the design process.
A Home That Tells One Cohesive Story
One of our primary goals for Casa Del Vento was creating a home where every detail feels connected.
Rather than selecting hardware room by room, we approached the project as one complete story. Every finish, profile, and silhouette was carefully considered to ensure the home feels cohesive from the moment you walk through the front door.
For the home's interior doors, we selected timeless pieces from the Ashley Norton Collection. The warm antique brass finish brings depth and character while complementing the soft architectural details we've shared throughout this project from the arched doorways to the graceful curves found throughout the home.
These selections were sourced through our trusted partners at Gaspar & Co. Hardware, where we had the pleasure of working with Ashley McBride. Ashley's product knowledge, thoughtful recommendations, and attention to detail made the selection process seamless and enjoyable. Collaborating with experts like Ashley allows us to confidently specify products that are not only beautiful but built to last.
Sometimes Contrast Creates the Best Design
One of our favorite design principles is knowing when to create a subtle moment of contrast.
While much of the home features warm antique brass hardware, we intentionally selected sleek matte black lever handles for the pantry and laundry/mudroom doors.
These rooms naturally serve a more functional purpose, and the clean-lined black levers give them their own personality while still complementing the overall design language of the home.
It's a small design decision that many people may never consciously notice but they'll certainly feel the difference.
Thoughtful contrast creates visual interest, helping each space feel unique without sacrificing cohesion.
The Finishing Touches for Custom Millwork
The kitchen is often called the heart of the home, but we believe the millwork is what gives it soul.
For the kitchen cabinetry, pantry, and mudroom built-ins, we partnered with Hendel & Hendel, whose beautifully crafted hardware perfectly aligned with the timeless character we envisioned for Casa Del Vento.
Working alongside our representative, Warwick Green, we carefully curated every piece to ensure it complemented the custom millwork rather than competing with it. Warwick was an incredible partner throughout the selection process, helping us navigate the many options while staying true to the overall design vision.
Instead of using one hardware style throughout the cabinetry, we intentionally layered different pieces based on both function and proportion.
Elegant round knobs soften upper cabinetry.
Classic cup pulls bring timeless charm and practicality to drawers.
Long appliance pulls create balance on larger cabinet panels.
Traditional cabinet latches introduce a handcrafted, furniture-inspired detail that gives the cabinetry an elevated, custom feel.
Although each piece serves a different purpose, the shared warm antique brass finish allows everything to work together beautifully.
It's these subtle layers that make a home feel curated rather than decorated.

One of the biggest differences between a thoughtfully designed home and one that simply looks nice is the attention given to the smallest details.
When selecting hardware, we aren't simply choosing what looks good.
