Sanctuary by Design: Custom Millwork + TV Den
Custom Design That Works Hard
One of the standout features in this project is the custom millwork piece we designed specifically for this room.
Because functionality mattered just as much as beauty, we created a custom unit that serves three purposes in one seamless design:
A fully functional dresser
A TV console
A built-in makeup vanity
Instead of treating these as separate pieces, we designed one integrated solution that feels tailored to the architecture of the room.
The vanity extension creates a dedicated personal space for daily rituals, while the dresser provides generous storage without visually overwhelming the room. Thoughtful details like the hardware, proportions, and integrated mirror help the piece feel elevated and intentional.
This is something we prioritize often in our projects: designing custom solutions that make a home work better while still feeling beautiful.
Next up, the Den!
The TV Den: Light, Soft, and Cozy Luxury
While the bedroom leans moody and cocoon-like, we wanted the adjoining TV den to feel slightly lighter while still connected.
The goal was simple: create a cozy lounge space that feels luxurious enough to escape into. To soften the room and add movement to the walls, we applied an ivory limewash finish.
We love limewash because it adds dimension in a way flat paint simply can’t. The subtle variation creates movement, softness, and an organic quality that instantly elevates a space. In this room, the ivory tone keeps everything bright and airy while still feeling warm and sophisticated.
From there, we layered in key pieces to complete the space:
A sculptural TV console
Textural pillows in blush and olive tones
Burlwood side table
Soft wall sconces
Statement mirror
Curated artwork and accessories
Each piece was selected to contribute to both comfort and visual richness. The result is a TV room that feels polished yet relaxed, luxury without stiffness.
Cohesion Through Contrast
What we love most about this project is the contrast between the two spaces. The bedroom is darker, moodier, and more cocooning. The den is lighter, softer, and more airy yet they still feel connected.
That cohesion comes from repeating materials, tones, and shapes across both spaces that include, warm woods, creamy neutrals, soft brass, sculptural forms, and layered textures. This is something we think about constantly in design. A home doesn’t need every room to look identical. In fact, it shouldn’t.But each space should feel like it belongs to the same story.
This project is a perfect example of that philosophy.
Final Thoughts
This renovation became so much more than a bedroom update. It became a private sanctuary that was designed around rest, comfort, ritual, and intentional living. Every detail was considered, from the custom millwork to the layered textiles to the way light moves across the limewashed walls. The final result feels warm, elevated, and deeply personal. And to us, that’s always the goal.
Designing spaces that feel as good as they look.
