The Seating Area: Where Comfort Meets Connection

As part of our Corsica project, transforming a former clubhouse into a modern co-working environment, every space was designed with intention. While areas like the conference room support structure and productivity, the center seating area serves a different, equally important purpose.

This is where the space softens.

Creating a Moment Within the Space

Positioned at the heart of the layout, the center seating area was designed to act as a natural pause point. A place where people can step away from their desks, reset, and connect in a more relaxed setting.

In co-working environments, not every interaction needs to happen at a table or behind a screen. Some of the most valuable conversations happen in spaces that feel effortless and inviting.

This area was designed to support exactly that.

A Softer Approach to Work

The foundation of this space is comfort.

A sculptural, curved sofa anchors the layout, creating a sense of enclosure without walls. Its form naturally encourages conversation, while the plush upholstery introduces a level of warmth that contrasts the more structured work areas throughout the space.

Paired with simple wood side tables and a soft, layered rug, the seating arrangement feels grounded yet relaxed, designed to be used without overthinking it.

It’s not formal. It’s not rigid. It just works.

Balance Through Material and Tone

One of the key design goals was to maintain consistency with the overall Corsica palette while allowing this space to feel distinct.

Warm, earthy tones were intentionally introduced here, rich browns, soft creams, and natural textures, to create a more intimate atmosphere. These elements contrast beautifully with the lighter architectural finishes and clean lines seen throughout the rest of the space.

Floor-to-ceiling drapery softens the vertical scale of the room, diffusing natural light and adding a subtle sense of movement. The result is a space that feels calm, elevated, and quietly refined.

Designed for Flexibility

While the seating area is visually strong, it was designed to remain highly functional.

This is a space that can adapt throughout the day:

  • Morning coffee or casual check-ins

  • Midday collaboration in a more relaxed setting

  • A quiet place to take a call or step away

  • An informal meeting space without the structure of a conference room

By keeping the layout open and the furniture approachable, the space invites people to use it in whatever way they need.

BEFORE

The Role It Plays

In a co-working environment, spaces like this are often overlooked—but they’re essential.

They create balance.

They give people a place to recharge. They encourage organic interaction. They make the overall environment feel more human.

Without spaces like this, everything starts to feel transactional.

With it, the entire project feels complete.

A Cohesive Experience

The center seating area is just one piece of the Corsica transformation, but it plays a critical role in how the space is experienced as a whole.

It bridges the gap between productivity and comfort between structure and ease.

At Del Vento & Co., that balance is always the goal.
