From Utility to Intentional: The Kitchenette Transformation

Not every impactful design starts with a grand space. Sometimes, it begins with what’s overlooked.

In the Corsica project, this area was originally a compact utility closet. Purely functional, tucked away, and never meant to be experienced. But in a co-working environment, even the smallest spaces have an opportunity to serve a bigger purpose. We saw potential to turn this forgotten corner into something both practical and elevated: a kitchenette designed for everyday moments.

Designing for Daily Rituals

The goal was simple, to create a space where people could step away, reset, and recharge. Whether it’s grabbing a quick coffee, warming up lunch, or just taking a breather between meetings, this nook needed to feel intentional, not secondary.

We leaned into a clean, modern layout that maximizes efficiency without sacrificing design. Every element was selected to make the space feel cohesive with the rest of the project, while still standing on its own.

Material Contrast That Elevates the Space

The foundation of the design started with contrast.

The abstract teal tile brings depth and personality, transforming what could have been a standard backsplash into a statement moment. Its variation in tone adds movement and texture, catching light in a subtle but impactful way.

Paired against that, the light oak cabinetry introduces warmth and balance. The natural wood grain softens the boldness of the tile, creating a combination that feels both modern and inviting.

To ground it all, we incorporated sleek black hardware and fixtures. Clean, minimal, and just enough contrast to sharpen the overall look.

Compact, But Complete

Despite the limited footprint, the kitchenette is fully equipped to support the needs of the space. Integrated appliances, a built-in coffee station, and a beverage fridge allow for functionality without clutter.

Everything has its place. Nothing feels forced.

This is where thoughtful design makes the biggest difference—taking a tight footprint and turning it into something that feels seamless, efficient, and elevated.

BEFORE

A Small Space That Carries Weight

What was once a purely utilitarian closet is now a destination within the space. It’s proof that good design isn’t about square footage, it’s about intention.

By rethinking how even the smallest areas can function, we’re able to create environments that not only look good, but truly support how people move, work, and live within them.

And sometimes, it’s these smaller, quieter spaces that end up making the biggest impact.
